Originally created: August 2009. Revised in May 2010.

This was a web page I did, created in HTML 5 and using some of the CSS3 colour/ opacity effects, as a demonstration page that I created during my dissertation studies.

Main effects: HTML5 page structuring special tags in place of certain divs, CSS colour/ transparency properties rgb, rgba, hsl, hsla, opacity.

When looking at this page, please use a modern, HTML5/ CSS3 capable web browser to get the page to look its best.

Slaanesh Symbol

Symbol for Chaos god Slaanesh

Slaanesh Symbol

Created: April 2010
Inspired by the logo for the Warhammer/ Warhammer 40,000 Chaos god Slaanesh.
Started off with the initial background and symbol, with 8 point star in Illustrator.
Some correction, as well as a couple of Photoshop effects applied – Plastic Wrap on the symbol and Motion blur on the background.
Earlier, I did a Khornate logo, so I’ll probably have to do the other two – Nurgle and Tzeentch eventually.

Flaming Fist Karate Club - Business card

Created: May 2009 and revised March 2010

These were further examples of business cards created for a fictional karate club (The Flaming Fist Karate Club) for a group assignment. The logo for this club is also shown in this category, as testament to my skills in using Adobe Illustrator.

NOTE: This karate club and its contact details are purely fictional. Any relation between it and any existing club of the same name I did not know of and is purely coincidental.

The Flying Pig - Business card

Created: March 2009

Work created solely in Illustrator, as part of a practical assignment in graphic design, which showed that Adobe Illustrator can be used to make business cards. This is the first example page, using the ‘Flying Pig’ logo.

NOTE: The company and person shown in the business cards are purely fictional. If there happens to be a person and company of the same name, that is purely coincidental.

Logo of World Eaters Legion

Created: April 2010

Made in Illustrator first, for the basic structure (jaws, globe and background), with further texture effects, as well as land mass, clouds and oceans in Photoshop.

Inspired by the logo of the Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Space Marine followers of Khorne called the World Eaters, but this version was drawn by me, no photos or scans but an initial image in my head taken from what the logo originally looks like.

‘Cycling’ booklet

Cycling booklet

Photographic images used and text not created by me, but were sourced by whoever set the practical assignment.

Some of the text was ‘Lorem Ipsum’ placeholder text. Everything else, however, was my work, such as the document layout, as well as the front cover graphics (Wheels were created in Illustrator).

Fiery background

Finished: May 2009

Created in Photoshop, as a flaming background for a text effect used in my ‘Flaming Fist’ animation. This used a brown-red-orange-yellow gradient fill, followed by varying levels of smudge tool.

Show Flyer

This was a PDF flyer advertising a fictional show called ‘The Forgetful Sorcerer’. This was created in Illustrator, with an initial figure traced over, a couple of 3D objects, symbols, etc.

Flying Pig logo

Finished: March 2009, revised March 2010

Logo for a fictional company used for an Illustrator practical, to be used in business cards.

As true to my liking of pigs, I decided that I would have a flying pig logo, with gradient filled background and clouds. (Original version was in the CMYK colour model)
